Giggles Gets Serious
Our now 2 year old filly Just For Laughs rounded off her first full preparation recently with a solid workout at trainer Lee Evison's Longwarry property. And the reports from our astute trainer are encouraging with Giggles exceeding expectations to date.
"This preparation was really an extension of her early education and I couldn't be happier with the way she drives" Evison explained. "This time in she has learned to work with a track partner, taking turns to lead, trail and work alongside a mate. She is a lovely gaited pacer who is safe in her gear and a willing worker".
While not asked to run any real time, Just For Laughs comfortably cruised through 35 second quarters around Lee's roomy 1,000m track giving her a definite pass mark as she heads to the spelling paddock.
Pleasingly the filly actually gained weight (20kg) during this preparation despite suffering the effects of a nasty cold mid term. With the warmer Spring weather just round the corner, Giggles will enjoy 6 - 8 weeks off and will hopefully add further bulk to her growing frame!!
"Most of the Grinfromeartoear progeny are a good size and this filly should be a fair lump of a horse when she has finished growing" Evison enthused.
Fingers crossed but all is going well to date!!
