Casey Works Out At Cranbourne

Casey Castle took the next step along her path to the race track with her first serious workout at Cranbourne after the trials on Saturday morning.

Working with two companions, Casey lead off and travelled comfortably on the bit for the first 1,600m of the 2,400m trip. Passing the 800m the group quickened and to the delight of Simone Walker the daughter of Art Major lengthened stride nicely and ran to the line in final quarters of 32.4 seconds and 31.3 seconds.

Importantly, the Allstars #1 Group's filly seemed to warm to the idea of racing her workmates and reached the finish line without being headed. No sooner had she done so however than she "switched off" and then simply ambled her way back to the stalls area in her typically laconic fashion.

Trainer Bill Walker will continue in a similar vein in the coming weeks gradually increasing Casey's workload with more frequent trips to Cranbourne and perhaps even a trial before she is given a short, but well deserved let up.

The daughter of Art Major and Meredith Castle has grown into a lovely big strong filly and is pleasing trainer Bill Walker in her progression to the race track.
